CWTON

Centralny Wykaz Turystycznych Obiektów Noclegowych

Poland's Central Register of Tourist Accommodation, mandated by EU Regulation 2024/1028. Every short-term rental property in Poland must register here once the registry launches.

Sanepid

Państwowa Stacja Sanitarno-Epidemiologiczna (PSSE)

Polish sanitary inspectorate. Enforces sanitary requirements for accommodation. Inspections happen unannounced.

Polish abbreviation for fire safety regulations. Covers smoke detectors, extinguishers, evacuation plans, and the criminal-liability declaration property owners sign.

RODO

Rozporządzenie o Ochronie Danych Osobowych

Polish term for GDPR — same EU regulation, enforced locally by UODO (the Polish data protection authority).

Energy performance certificate, mandatory for every Polish rental (including STR) since 2023. Issued by a certified surveyor; valid 10 years; cost 150–400 PLN. Fines for missing certificate: 20–5,000 PLN.

UODO

Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych

Polish data protection authority. Enforces GDPR / RODO compliance. Administrative fines reach up to 4% of turnover.

UC135

Polish implementing law for EU 2024/1028

Draft Polish national law that will set the operational details of CWTON registration (deadlines, transition periods, fines). Status: not yet enacted as of April 2026.

NIP

Numer Identyfikacji Podatkowej

Polish tax identification number. Required for issuing VAT invoices, business registration, and one-license-per-NIP HostReady terms.

KRS

Krajowy Rejestr Sądowy

Polish company register. Public registry of all incorporated entities in Poland.

PSP / PINB

Państwowa Straż Pożarna / Powiatowy Inspektorat Nadzoru Budowlanego

Polish State Fire Service (PSP) and the District Building Inspectorate (PINB). PSP runs fire safety inspections; PINB enforces the energy performance certificate requirement.
